The Red Ruby Devon is one of the more traditional native breeds, widely regarded for the quality of its beef. It is a slow-growing breed, which gives the animal sufficient lifetime to develop a deep beefy flavour. The beef is particularly well marbled; the fat being naturally more yellow when compared to other breeds.
We are meticulous when selecting animals. The White Park steer we had ear-marked needed just a few more weeks on our home-grown haylage to reach its optimum condition. As we know the farmer that supplied this animal and the traditional methods employed to allow this animal a natural grass-fed life, we are confident that the beef will be nothing short of excellent.
